Description

Cleanroom Basic Chair, All-Round Protection for the Cleanroom

The Cleanroom Basic is a proven all-round chair from Bimos, combining the best cleanroom properties with reliable ESD capability, pleasant seating comfort and ergonomic settings. It is suitable for air cleanliness class 3 according to EN ISO 14644-1 and air purity level 1 according to US Fed. Std. 209E, and provides reliable protection against electrostatic charge according to EN 61340-5-1.

Where the Cleanroom Basic Chair Fits

The Cleanroom Basic chair is developed and tested for cleanrooms, carrying the internationally recognised Tested Device mark from the Fraunhofer Institute. It meets all requirements for high particle emission safety, making it suitable for demanding cleanroom workstations across production, laboratory and inspection environments.

Two Versions: Castors or Glides with Footrest

The Cleanroom Basic chair is available in two base configurations. The castors version, with three mechanism options, offers a seat height of 460-630 mm. The glides and footrest version, also with three mechanism options, offers a seat height of 600-870 mm, with a chrome-plated footrest included as standard, and can also be ordered with self-locking Stop and Go castors instead of glides.

Cleanroom-Compatible Design

Smooth and closed surfaces on the seat and backrest prevent the deposit of particles as well as turbulence from the permanent air flow of the filter system. The upholstery and upholstery supports are joined together using back-foaming technology, which reliably prevents particle emissions. The base is made of polished, abrasion-resistant aluminium, the frame of strong plastic, and the upholstery of hygienic artificial leather, all electrostatically dissipative according to EN 61340-5-1.

Upholstery

The seat and backrest of the Cleanroom Basic chair are upholstered in artificial leather Skai ESD, in black. This material is PVC-free and free from harmful phthalates, resistant to disinfectants, soft to the touch, and remains crack-free for years. It is fire safety tested to DIN EN 1021-1 and -2, making it particularly suitable for cleanrooms with combustible chemicals, and carries the Oeko-Tex label for environmental friendliness.

Armrests and Accessories

Armrests are not included in the base configuration of the Cleanroom Basic chair and can be ordered separately as the ESD 4D T armrest accessory. A footrest support bar is also available as a spare part for the glides and footrest version, which already includes one as standard equipment. Self locking Stop and Go castors can also be added instead of glides on the glides and footrest version. All three accessories are also listed in the Accessories tab.

Build Quality and Warranty

The Cleanroom Basic chair has a net weight starting at 14.5 kg on the lightest configuration and up to 20 kg on the tallest configurations, with a polished aluminium base. Every Cleanroom Basic chair is backed by a 10 year warranty, with free shipping of replacement parts throughout the entire period.

Certifications and Standards

The Cleanroom Basic chair complies with EN 61340-5-1 for electrostatic discharge protection, EN ISO 14644-1 for cleanroom air cleanliness class 3, and US Fed. Std. 209E for air purity level 1. It carries the Fraunhofer Institute Tested Device mark, and is produced under DIN EN ISO 9001 quality management, DIN EN ISO 14001 environmental management, and EMAS-tested environmental management.
