Metro ESD Safe Utility Carts provide a safe, durable means of transporting static-sensitive materials, tools, and components in electronics manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, and other controlled environments. Built on the same modular Super Erecta platform as Metro wire shelving, these wire utility carts combine mobility, strength, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection to provide unmatched performance.
Each cart features open-wire, drop mat chrome shelves that promote airflow and minimize particulate buildup, supporting clean and controlled workspaces. Conductivity is achieved through its chrome-plated steel construction, 9985-ESD conductive split sleeves, and a grounding system that includes a drag chain, two conductive brake casters, and two conductive swivel casters. Together, these components maintain full grounding during transport for consistent static control and optimal ESD protection.
Chrome ESD Utility Carts provide versatile, cost-effective mobility for general electronics manufacturing, assembly, and component handling. They are ideal for transporting trays, bins, and test equipment between workstations or cleanroom zones while maintaining a grounded conductive path.
All models feature ergonomic one-piece handles on both sides for easy maneuverability. Adjustable shelf heights in 1-inch increments allow users to configure carts for a wide range of transport tasks. Drop mat shelves help secure products during movement, reducing the risk of shifting or damage in transit.

Sizes Available to Order

The cart is available to order, including custom configuration, in two sizes: ESDMW-1836NC-2 (914 x 457 x 991 mm) and ESDMW-2448NC-2 (1219 x 610 x 991 mm). Select the size in the selector above.

Wheels, Weight and Materials

Both sizes stand on four 5 in (127 mm) non-marking wheels made of conductive thermoplastic polyurethane, with 5MPESD swivel casters, 5MPBESD brake casters and a drag chain. Approximate package weight is 16.8 kg for the 914 mm version and 23.2 kg for the 1219 mm version. The load capacity is 900 lbs (408 kg). The cart has 2 shelves and is made of steel, with a chrome finish, in a silver color.

ESD Protection

Conductivity is maintained through chrome-plated steel construction and 9985-ESD polymer split sleeves, while the drag chain and the conductive casters keep the cart in ground contact during transport.
