Metro ESD Reel Storage Shelving Cart for SMT Component Reels

The Metro Mobile ESD Safe Reel Shelving System provides reliable, conductive storage and transport for standard-size SMT component reels used in PCB assembly and electronics manufacturing. Built on the same durable Super Erecta platform as our ESD wire racks, this shelving cart combines high-density reel storage with complete electrostatic discharge protection for static-sensitive materials in cleanroom and controlled production environments.
Each preconfigured unit features 4 or 5 Brite-plated wire shelves and chrome-plated steel posts. 9985-ESD conductive split sleeves, conductive casters, and a conductive drag chain ensure a continuous path to ground from the shelves to the floor, even during movement, providing full protection against electrostatic discharge during transport and handling.
Options are available to accommodate 13-inch to 15-inch diameter and 7-inch diameter component reels. Each shelf can hold up to (15) 13-inch to 15-inch diameter reels or (78) 7-inch diameter reels, optimizing storage density for SMT line replenishment or kitting operations. The open-wire design supports airflow and visibility, minimizing particulate buildup and ensuring clean, organized access to components in ESD-protected areas.
Shelves adjust in 1-inch increments, allowing the cart to adapt to different reel sizes. Heavy-duty conductive casters (2 brake casters and 2 swivel casters) and a conductive drag chain maintain consistent grounding across movement surfaces while providing smooth mobility.

Configurations Available to Order

The cart is available to order, including custom configuration, in two versions: R13-1836BR-63-M-4, with 4 wire shelves for 13-inch to 15-inch diameter reels and 15 reels per shelf, and R7-1836BR-63-M-5, with 5 wire shelves for 7-inch diameter reels and 78 reels per shelf. Dimensions, Wheels and Materials

Both configurations measure 914 x 457 x 1753 mm (length x width x height) and stand on four 5 in (127 mm) non-marking wheels made of conductive thermoplastic polyurethane, with 5MPESD swivel casters, 5MPBESD brake casters and an ESD-DC12 drag chain. Approximate package weight is 23.2 kg for the 4-shelf version and 32.3 kg for the 5-shelf version. The load capacity is 600 lbs (272 kg). The cart is made of steel, with chrome-plated posts and Brite wire shelves, in a silver color.

ESD Protection

Conductivity is maintained throughout the entire structure through chrome-plated and Brite-plated steel and 9985-ESD polymer split sleeves, while the drag chain and the conductive casters keep the cart in ground contact during transport.
