Metro ESD End-Load Tray Transport Rack for Safe Handling of Static-Sensitive Electronics

Metro ESD Safe Tray Transport Racks are engineered from the ground up to meet the strict demands of static-sensitive environments. Unlike traditional mobile racks, these ESD tray racks are designed specifically to safeguard electronic components during handling, staging, and movement.
Every element of the design supports ESD protection through multiple failsafes. With five points of electrical redundancy between the rack and floor, including a drag chain, ESD-safe casters, conductive split sleeves, and grounding points, your materials remain continuously protected from static discharge.
The full-height, end-load design can securely hold up to 38 trays to ensure your sensitive components and materials stay secure, visible, and protected at every stage.

Grounding, Casters and Tray Control

The Metro ESD tray transport rack rolls on swivel casters, two of them with brakes, and includes an ESD-DC12 drag chain that provides a dedicated discharge path to maintain ground continuity. Conductive split sleeves throughout the assembly dissipate charge effectively, while the included tray stops secure trays during transport and prevent shifting or accidental removal. Conductive label holders enable proper identification while maintaining an ESD-safe environment.

Configurations Available to Order

The rack is available to order, including custom configuration, as a rack only (ESD-RE1), with 40 trays (ESD-RE1-TRAY1), with 40 trays and standard textured inlays (ESD-RE1-TRAY2), with 40 trays, dry-erase labels and work-in-process task slide indicators (ESD-RE1-TRAY3), or with 40 trays, inlays, labels and slide indicators (ESD-RE1-TRAY4). Dimensions, Wheels and Materials

Every configuration measures 723.9 x 584.2 x 1765.3 mm (length x width x height) and stands on four 5 in (127 mm) non-marking wheels made of conductive thermoplastic polyurethane. The finish is chrome. The rack is made of steel and aluminum, with thermoset polyester composite resin added by the tray configurations and vinyl added by the inlay configurations. Slide spacing is 38.5 mm. Approximate package weight runs from 33.1 kg for the rack only to 104.8 kg for the fully equipped configuration.

ESD Qualification

The rack meets ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021 with redundant grounding systems. It is built for cleanrooms, electronics assembly and static-controlled manufacturing areas.
